FluidRay RT 0.9.1 Released – Less Noise – Better Bidirectional Path Tracing

We are glad to announce the release of FluidRay RT 0.9.1! This release brings a lot of improvements in noise reduction and real-time performance:
– The Bidirectional Path Tracer is now very usable and provides much faster convergence, especially in interior renderings.
– The Path Tracer now produces much less noise
– Fixed a bug in Area lights, causing a lot of noise as well
– Fixed fireflies when using the Sun-Sky environment
You can download this version here.

New Architectural Rendering

Hi Everybody,
Alberto just finished a new architectural rendering (model by Mauro Bonan), check it out:

FluidRay RT 0.9.0 Beta Released | Better Navigation | Rhino Import

Hi Everybody,
We just released FluidRay RT 0.9.0 featuring:
-An Outliner window for better scene navigation (double clicking on the items will go into the corresponding graph in the GraphView)
-Rhino .3dm (OpenNurbs) file import, to facilitate people using Rhinoceros for Interior Design, Architecture and Industrial Design.
As usual, you can get FluidRay RT for free in the download page.

FluidRay RT 0.9.0 | Outliner | Rhino

We are almost ready to release FluidRay RT 0.9.0, with two new major features:
– An outliner for better scene navigation
– Rhino .3dm file import
Stay tuned!

FluidRay RT 0.8.4 | Bidirectional Path Tracing

Hi Everybody, we just released FluidRay RT 0.8.4! New features include:
– Faster convergence and much less fireflies
– New Mitchell filter for sharper images
– New Box filter for faster performance
– Improved Metropolis integrator
– Experimental real-time Birectional Path Tracing
You can get it from the download page

FluidRay RT 0.8.3 Released | Filtering

We just released FluidRay RT version 0.8.3 featuring:
– A ton of bug fixes
– More efficient filtering
– A big internal reorganization to allow the implementation of the Bidirectional Path Tracer (available from release 0.8.4)
As usual you can download it for free in the download page

Real-time Bidirectional Path Tracing

Just wanted to give you the heads up on what is going on about FluidRay RT development. Lately we have been working hard to add real-time Bidirectional Path Tracing (BDPT). This is a 3d rendering algorithm that is much more efficient in complex lighting situations such as interior renderings. We expect to include the new BDPT integrator in the upcoming release of FluidRay RT. Stay tuned!

Interior Rendering

Just added another 3D interior rendering to the gallery done by Alberto in FluidRay RT:

FluidRay RT 0.8.2 Released | Rough Glass | Mix Material

We just released FluidRay RT 0.8.2 Beta. This version brings a ton of new features and improvements in both workflow and flexibility:

  • A new Direct Lighting Integrator
  • Graph editor usability improvements
  • Dragging textures to the scene from the library will assign the texture to the corresponding material
  • Zoom extents in the Render view
  • Autofocus on camera
  • Mix scattering and Null scattering types (to combine different material types and to allow alpha transparency on arbitrary materials)
  • More viewing options to improve interactivity on heavy scenes (remember to recreate the renderer and camera nodes in your old scenes)
  • Possibility to choose the number of threads used by the renderer
  • 10-15% speed improvement
  • Rough glass and matte translucent materials
  • Fixed some problems with glass and gems materials
  • Fixed fireflies in the occluded environment material

FluidRay RT 0.8.2 is available for free in the download page.

FluidRay RT 0.8.2 close to release

FluidRay RT 0.8.2 is close to release, adding a lot of new features. Among them, frosted glass, fast preview modes and an improved interface. Here is a rendering done with the pre-release of FluidRay RT 0.8.2:
